Message from the President

Happy late Summer/early Fall to everyone! DMI has a busy next couple months ahead of us that includes our regular monthly programs: "New Faces, New Places" on Thursday, September 14th and "What's up Downtown" breakfast on Thursday, September 28th.

On Wednesday, September 20th we will be holding our 7th annual "State of the Downtown" presentation-to see last year's report click here. It will take place at the Overture Center for the Arts at 7:30am with a panel discussion beginning at 8am. We have an extremely distinguished panel this year that will share with us their thoughts on future opportunities/challenges for the City of Madison and in particular-downtown Madison. Our panelists will include: Brad Binkowski/Co-founder & Principal of Urban Land Interests; Ruben Anthony/President & CEO of the Urban League of Greater Madison; Natalie Erdman/Director of Planning, Community & Economic Development for the City of Madison; Deb Archer/President & CEO of the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau; and Judge Everett Mitchell/Dane County Circuit Court.

With such an outstanding panel, you will not want to miss this event. I am the fortunate person who will be facilitating this panel and I very much look forward to it. Thank you to all of our generous sponsors who make this important event possible. We hope to see all of you there!

Susan Schmitz, DMI President
