Message from the President
As I buried my shovel deep in my garage this week, I knew my arms would be happy since spring is finally here!

Spring in downtown Madison is exciting, alive and full of activity. The isthmus welcomes us all back after our months of slumber. Spring started in earnest this past weekend as the Dane County Farmers' Market and Crazylegs Classic returned to the Capitol Square, bringing thousands of people downtown to enjoy our wonderful center city.

In looking ahead, this summer will prove to be even better than years past. With outstanding perennial events like Live on King Street, Concerts on the Square, and Taste of Madison joined by newer events like the outstanding Madison Night Market and CrossFit Games, downtown Madison will come alive. On top of it all the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau will fill the downtown with UW pride by installing 85 life size and artful Bucky Badger statues as part of Bucky on Parade running May 7-September 12.

This spring/summer promises to be the best yet in downtown Madison. Come join us for the fun!

Jason Ilstrup,
DMI President
