Message from the President
Hello DMI Members:

I'm a whole eight weeks into the job and I have it all figured out...well not really. Actually, I think I have only 1% of the job figured out. Every day I'm learning something new about what makes DMI strong and how we can improve.

One thing I've learned is how important the committee system is to the mission of DMI. The hard work of the organization is done in the six standing committees: Economic Development, Government Relations, Inclusiveness, Membership, Quality of Life/Safety and Transportation and Parking (with a Bike Sub-Committee). These DMI committees tackle local policy issues to strengthen the health and vitality of downtown Madison. The committees rely on the expertise of our members to provide DMI's voice.

I urge all our members to get involved on the DMI committees. It is a wonderful way to meet new people, hear about important issues and make sure your voice is heard. Please let our team know if you interested in joining.

Have a fantastic day!

Jason Ilstrup,
DMI President
