Message from the President

Happy 2018 to the DMI family. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.

The new year brings significant change to DMI. After 19 years, Susan Schmitz retired in December as President of Downtown Madison, Inc. Susan lead our organization with aplomb. Her expertise helped create the downtown we enjoy today. DMI and the City of Madison are indebted to her hard work, knowledge, and enduring enthusiasm for our community. Thank you, Susan.

I am honored and excited to become the next leader of DMI. In the coming months, I hope to connect directly with as many of you as possible. With the help of DMI's fantastic team of John, Carol Ann and Madelyn and all our dedicated members, we will ensure that downtown continues to thrive. I look forward to working with all of you to build a welcoming, accessible, dynamic downtown for every business, resident and visitor.

Jason Ilstrup,
DMI President
