Message from the President

The 2017 Spring elections are taking place on Tuesday, April 4th! Last month the DMI Board of Directors voted to endorse candidates in contested races only for the City of Madison Common Council. These endorsements include:

District 1: Barbara McKinney (i)
District 8: Zach Wood (i)
District 10: Maurice Cheeks (i)
District 11: Arvina Martin AND Bradley Campbell (dual endorsement)
District 14: Sheri Carter (i)
i=incumbent

DMI believes these candidates best align with our vision, priorities and goals for downtown Madison. To view the DMI endorsement process and candidate interview questions, click here. There are also many other important races on the ballot including seats for the Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education, so be sure to get out and vote!

Then later this month, we invite you and look forward to seeing you at the 2nd annual Doors Open Madison event taking place on Sunday, April 23rd from 11am-4pm. This free, one-day event is a chance for the public to explore Madison's built environment. Over 25 buildings throughout the downtown area will be open for tours with additional entertainment and kids activities taking place throughout the day. Similar events have taken place in over 50 cities around the world and last year's inaugural event in Madison was a huge success. For further details including an event map and a full list of building sites, visit doorsopenmsn.com!
